One woman turned her painful past into purpose, transforming two buildings in Brooklyn and Queens into temporary housing for people trying to change their lives after prison.

“For a long long time police have been doing this on Long Island, and this is the straw the broke the camels back,” said Brea Baker, who’s part of Justice League NYC. She’s also a Freeport resident.
